As the second teaming between Jim Carrey and the Farrelly Brothers, Me, Myself and Irene promises to be a pure slapstick joyride. The movie follows a Rhode Island state trooper (Carrey) who must take medication in order to combat his split personality disorder. When he neglects to take his medicine, his different personalities compete for the affection of the same woman (Renee Zellweger). Carrey and the Farrellys first collaborated on the 1994 feature Dumb & Dumber, which grossed $127 million at the box office. Considering that subsequent features for both parties each grossed over $300 million, Irene looks like a rare "sure thing" at the box office.
