Intolerable Cruelty follows a hotshot Beverly Hills divorce lawyer who frames a client's wife in order to prevent a marriage settlement. George Clooney stars as the lawyer and Catherine Zeta-Jones as the vengeful wife who then pursues the lawyer with the intention of marrying him and getting payback through a divorce.
The dark comedy is directed by the Coen brothers, who reworked the original script by Robert Ramsey and Matthew Stone. The comedy is based on idea by John Romano.
