Better known as Pee-Wee Herman than as Paul Reubens, the New York-born comedian began his career with the Los Angeles-based comedy troupe, The Groundlings. During the early 80's, Herman developed a following, culminating in a sold-out performance in 1984 at Carnegie Hall and then on the big screen in 1985 with Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. The following year, Reubens parlayed his success into the Saturday morning show Pee-Wee's Playhouse. Reubens has also taken roles in Matilda, Blow, and Teacher's Pet.
