Winner of the Best European Film award at the 2000 Brussels Film Festival, Solas is a touching drama that dramatizes a mother-daughter relationship and the lonliness and inner pain each of them suffers from. The film comes from Spanish, first-time director Benito Zambrano who also penned the screenplay. Paco De Osca, Antonio Dechent, Ana Fernandez and Juan Fernandez star in the movie. Solas marks the directorial debut for Zambrano who wrote the screenplay for the film Amores in 1994.
