Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 takes place in modern day Burkittsville,after the events chronicled in The Blair Witch Project. The story followsfour young people who have signed up for a tour of the "Black Hills" withenterprising townie Jeff Patterson in the latest Blair Witch money makingscheme. The success of the original film allowed Jeff to capitalize on thepopularity of the small town, drawing this eclectic group of adventurers.The group includes the tour guide Jeff Patterson; Erica Geerson, a natureloving Wiccan, Tristen Ryler and Stephen Ryan Turner, a grad student couplewriting a book about the Blair Witch and Kim Diamond, a sardonic Goth withperiodic psychic visions.
The five adventurers set up camp near the house that belonged to RustinParr, the old hermit who was hanged for the murders of seven children, acrime that eerily bore the mark of the Blair Witch. The next morningcampers awake with no recollection of what happened the night before. Inthe process of trying to piece together their memory, the group becomes theunsuspecting victims of strange occurrences and disturbing visions seeminglyof evil origins. The group, allowing history to repeat itself, have becomethe victims of forces beyond their control and prey to the murky past ofJeff Patterson.
