The Visit is poignant drama about a family dealing with a son's mistakes. It tells the story of Alex, who is in prison for an alleged rape he committed and which he adamantly denies. His brother is the only person who visits him in prison. As the prisoner want more visits from his parents and loved ones, he undergoes a spiritual maturity that in the end helps him in his trying situation. Hill Harper plays Alex and Obba Babatunde portrays his brother, with Billy Dee Williams, Talia Shire, and Phylicia Rashad also starring.
The film, based the story on a play by Kosmond Russell, was produced, written and directed by Jordan Walker-Pearlman. The Visit, which had an Oscar run in December 2000, will be distributed by Urbanworld.
