Description

Based on a novel by Ha Chin that won the 1999 National Book Prize, Waiting follows Li Kong, a Chinese doctor bound by an arranged marriage that offers him no comfort. He meets a beautiful nurse during the Cultural Revolution of China and falls in love with her. However, Kong must wait eighteen years, since the law requires his marriage to be annulled before he can marry his true love. Peter Chan directs and writes the picture.
