American Made [MENA] opened in second place with $17.0 million. The Tom Cruise vehicle skewed old with 91% of the audience over the age of 25.
Last weekend's champ, Kingsman: The Golden Circle [KTSS2] dropped 56% in its second weekend to $17.0 million. The sequel has banked $66.7 million.
The LEGO Ninjago Movie [NJAGO] finished fourth with $12.0 million, down 41% from its debut.
Flatliners [FLATL] cleared just $6.7 million in its fifth place opening. The remnake has a 0% RottenTomatoes rating.
Expanding wide to 1213 theaters, Battle of the Sexes [BTSEX] served up $3.4 million for sixth overall.
Til Death Do Us Part [TDDUP] debuted ninth with $1.6 million from 561 theaters, while A Question of Faith [AQOFF] took eleventh with $1.1 million from 661 theaters.
