HSX is joining the political arena by offering Presidential Options for the incumbent President of the United States from the Republican Party, Donald Trump [TRUMP], and the Democratic Party challenger, Joe Biden [BIDEN].
What does politics have to do with Hollywood, you may ask? Ronald Reagan was a former Hollywood actor who became the 40th President of the United States and served two terms during the 1980s. Donald Trump has appeared in numerous films over the decades and was the star and host of the reality show ‘The Apprentice’ for 14 seasons. Politics is not new to HSX, which offered Governor Options back in 2003 when Arnold Schwarzengger was elected Governor of California.
Although there are additional Presidential candidates from other political parties, they are unlikely to win any electoral votes. The U.S. Presidency is determined by the Electoral College, not by a popular vote of the entire country.
The Electoral College consists of 538 electors, which represent the 50 States based on the sum of each state's members in the Senate and House of Representatives. A candidate wins the electors for each State by winning the popular vote for that State. An absolute majority of at least 270 electoral votes is required to win the Presidential election.
