Election Day is finally upon us here in the United States of America. After four years of Donald Trump as the 45th President, Americans are exercising their right to choose who gets to lead the country for the next four years. Voters are mailing in ballots and heading to the polls in a record turnout for the 2020 Election. HSX entered the political theater with the launch of Presidential Options for Trump and his challenger Joe Biden more than two months ago on August 20th. Options for the Senate and House of Representatives of U.S. Congress were then issued in early September.
The HSX Prediction Market allowed traders to speculate on the outcome of the 2020 Elections. The Election Options have been halted at 1pm Pacific Time, and here are the final forecasts.
Presidential Race
HSX predicts the Democratic candidate Joe Biden [BIDEN] to receive 283 Electoral Votes, crossing the 270 thresholds to become the next President of the United States. Donald Trump [TRUMP] would finish with 255 Electoral Votes.
Senate Race
HSX predicts the Democratic Party [SENDEM] to win 50 seats in the Senate and take control of the upper chamber of Congress with Independents Bernie Sanders and Angus King, both of whom caucus with the Democrats. The Republican Party [SENREP] would end up with 48 seats.
House Race
HSX predicts the Democratic Party [HORDEM] to win 237 seats in the House of Representatives and retain control of the lower chamber of Congress. The Republican Party [HORREP] would keep 197 seats.
