Independent film Iron Lung [IRONL] debuted in second place with a robust $17.8 million. The horror film skewed 62% under the age of 25.
Melania [MLNIA] opened in third place with $7.04 million. The documentary appealed to an audience that was 72% female and 72% 55 years and older.
Shelter [SELTR] earned $5.51 million to open fifth overall.
Last weekend’s top film Mercy [MRCY1] finished at the seventh spot with $4.73 million. The sci-fi actioner declined 56% from its opening to bring its total to $19.41 million.
28 Days Later: The Bone Temple [28LT4] took in $1.60 million during its third outing for a sum of $23.65 million.
Return to Silent Hill [SHIL3] tumbled 70% from its debut to $980K for a cumulative total of $4.23 million.
