Lionsgate has unveiled the teaser trailer for the comedy Barb & Star go to Vista del Mar [BSVDM] starring Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo. Two lifelong friends decide to leave their small Midwestern town for the first time on an exotic vacation where they'll find romance and adventure. Originally set for a theatrical release, Barb & Star go to Vista del Mar will now head straight to VOD at home on February 12th.
With no new releases this weekend, the top six at the box office remained the same as last weekend. All held up extremely well at more than 70% except for Wonder Woman 1984 [WOND2], which dropped 45% to an estimated $3.0 million. Wonder Woman 1984 currently sits at $32.6 million.
The Croods: A New Age stayed in second place with $1.8 million, bringing its sum to $36.9 million.
News of the World [NEWSW] gathered another $1.2 million to take its total to $7.1 million.
Amazon Studios has uploaded a second trailer for the drama One Night in Miami [1NIMI] based on real events when Cassius Clay, Malcolm X, Jim Brown, and Sam Cooke came together after a championship boxing match in 1964.Regina King [RKING] makes her directorial debut on One Night in Miami, which opens in theaters on January 8th before Amazon Prime Video on January 15th.
Bleecker Street has released the domestic trailer for the drama Supernova [SPNOV]. Colin Firth [CFIRT] stars as a man with terminal cancer nad Stanley Tucci [STUCC] as his partner of twenty years. They travel across England in a campervan visiting friends, family and places from their past. Supernova will open in theaters on January 29th.
