Pixar has unveiled the full-length trailer for the animated suburban fantasy Onward [ONWRD]. Chris Pratt [CPRAT] and Tom Holland [TOHOL] voice teenage elf brothers who embark on an epic quest to rediscover magic and bring back their father. Onward hits theaters on March 6th.
Universal has unleashed the official trailer for the horror film The Turning [HAUND] inspired by the Henry James novela 'The Turn of the Screw'. Mackenzie Davis [MCDAV] stars as the new nanny at an estate in the Maine countryside where she is charged with the care of two orphans, played by Finn Wolfhard [FWOLF] and Brooklynn Prince [BPRIN]. The Turning arrives January 24th.
Sony has uploaded a redband trailer for the comedy sequel Zombieland: Double Tap [ZMBL2]. Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Abigail Breslin, and Emma Stone reprise their roles as slayers who must battle many new kinds of zombies that have evolved in the decade since the first movie. Zombieland: Double Tap opens on October 18th.
Turning up an estimated $93.5 million at the weekend box office, Joker [JOKER] surpassed Venom's $80.3 million last year to set the new highest October opening record. It could easily top Justice League's $93.8 million debut when the actual number comes in. The audience skewed 64% male and 68% under the age of 25.
Last weekend's champ, Abominable [EVERS] was second with $12.0 million. The animated film declined 42% in its sophomore weekend to bring its total to $37.8 million.
