Sony has debuted the first trailer for the remake Sparkle [SPRKL]. American Idol winner Jordin Sparks stars as the title character who along with her two sisters form a singing group in Motown-era Detroit. The late Whitney Houston plays their overbearing mother, while Derek Luke [DLUKE] plays their music manager, who also becomes Sparkle's love interest. Will success tear the family apart? Sparkle is currently set to open August 17th.
Seth MacFarlane has unleashed a red-band trailer for his directorial debut Ted [TED]. Mark Wahlberg [MWAHL] plays a man who meets the perfect girl, played by Mila Kunis [MKUNI]. Unfortunately, he has a teddy bear which came alive during his childhood and has become a foul-mouthed, pot-smoking nusance. Even more strange, the whole world aknowledges that there is a walking, talking teddy bear and doesn't seem to be bothered by it in the least bit. Ted opens July 13th.
