From TV's Arrested Development to Superbad to Juno, Michael Cera [MCERA] seems to always play the same character. He even resembles that character starring as himself in Paper Heart [PRHRT]. Cera has seemingly set up his career just so he could riff on his persona in the comedy Youth in Revolt [YRVLT]. Cera plays yet another dweeby teenager, but this time, one who creates a split personality that's his complete opposite. The suave and confident alter ego helps him break out of his shell...
After spending years crafting his World War II action film, Quentin Tarantino [QTARA] has finally unleashed Inglourious Basterds [BSTRD], a R-rated war fantasy about Jewish soldiers on a mission to kill and scalp Nazi Germans. The film premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and the buzz has been mixed ever since. Nevertheless, Tarantino has a loyal following eagerly anticipating his latest opus. The two Kill Bill films opened to $22 million and $25 million. While Brad Pitt...

Originally set for release back in February and then this November, Universal delayed the film yet again to next February. Reshoots and new effects have pushed the budget upwards of $120 million. One can't help but think the Universal brass couldn't handle another underperforming movie this year.
Can anything live up to the hype and expectation after over a decade of anticipation and speculation? The teaser trailer to director James Cameron's [JCAME] next film Avatar [AVATR] has finally premiere on Apple.
I don't know about you, but it looks to me like Cameron has gone Phantom Menace on us. Avatar was suppose to be a revolutionary game changer. While the computer generated effects are top-notch, I can't help but notice that Cameron has just made a $300 million version of...

After the Edward-oriented first teaser, Jacob is the focus of the second trailer for The Twilight Saga: New Moon [TWLI2]. Taylor Lautner [TLAUT], who plays Jacob, appears as himself in the trailer which plays out more like a featurette. Lautner explains his character's transformation in the story as well as his own physical transformation in order to play the part convincingly. Prior to the film's production, there was concern that the young actor may not have the physique to pull off...
The R-rated sci-fi thriller District 9 [DIST9] hauled in an estimated $37.0 million to debut in first place. The directorial debut from Neil Blomkamp featured a cast of unknowns and a third-world setting in South Africa. Sony built awareness with a marketing campaign that treated extraterrestrial aliens as if they were just another group of illegal aliens.
Last weekend’s top film G.I.Joe: The Rise of Cobra [GIJOE] finished second, declining 59% in its sophomore outing to $22.5 million.
I can't tell if this is a trailer for When in Rome [WROME] or a music video ad for its soundtrack. The romantic comedy pairs up Kristen Bell [KBELL] and Josh Duhamel [JDUHA]. We know they will end up together because unlike her freaky suitors, they are both picture perfect and literally falling all over each other. Why has clumsiness become a standard Hollywood character trait? Does it really make beautiful people vulnerable and accessible? Yeah, they're impossibly good-looking, but...
