Hugo is not an animated film. I highly recommend seeing it in the theatre (in 3D if you can)
It's 2 1/2 hours long with a slower pace for the average american audience. But the brilliant billionaires of HSX are not the average american audience.
Some of my friends have speculated that the film isn't doing well, despite how good it is, because it's a family film with the name Scorsese attached to it. When we think "Scorsese", we don't usually grab our young kids and head to the theater. I think fighting, murders, mob...
Some 3D is annoying, but this one is done well with a great performance turned in by Sacha Baron Cohen and Ben Kingsley is always interesting.
