HSX models itself after the real stock market but some differences had to be made in order for the game to work and/or so players could have fun.
One difference is that there is not a set amount of stocks issued for any security at HSX. The IPO shares are the amount of shares offered at a frozen price. Once those shares are sold, HSX unfreezes the price and the IPO then starts behaving like a normal stock.
There is unlimited shares issued for every stock listed at HSX so every player has the chance to have fun and invest in any/every stock listed at HSX.
