It is not a good investment to go long on all of the Nominoptions in a category, because you will lose money, just on the commissions. Going off of Mr Binns' analysis above: if you buy all 12 in the 7 categories other than Best Picture, it will cost you H$1.2M per category (12 options x H$5/each x 20,000 shares). 5 will cash out at H$12, so you will make H$1.2M on those, and nothing on the rest. So you will exactly break even. But since you paid commision of H$12K, you will lose the money you spent on commissions. So you will lose money overall.
So you have to short at least a few of them. The trick is knowing which ones to short, because if you short a Nominoption that ends up cashing out at H$12, you're screwed. So you have to pay close attention to which ones are most likely to being actual nominations.
I love Nominoptions because, even though you don't, comparatively, make a lot of money, they're like a compressed and intense version of this game.
