I like this hollywood stock exchange, but question...
It's fun, slightly exciting, and highly addictive (impo). I have no real knowledge of stock trading, finances, or portfolio management (if only you could see my portfolio and see what I mean) but somehow, in two days I've managed to make enough money to buy a small virtual suburb home in a small virtual suburb town.
Most of the questions I have, I can usually find using the internet; I've learned quite a bit in the last couple days. Some things I understand, and some things confuse me, like how I lose bits of money when I buy and sell shares. A specific example to represent my confusion, let say, is I buy 100k shares long, but I meant to buy short(stupid), and so I sell back and then buy 100k shares-short. In this instance, the share remained at $xx.xx from the time of purchase to the time of resale, but I lose somewhere between 1-10k depending on the price-per-share and amount (so I've noticed) but I shouldnt be losing anything, right?!
I'll have more questions, if I can get some people to help me learn, I'd feel better about asking. (:
