Greetings folks;
I started involving my self in the HSX community more and more since the beguining of the year , I learned alot since then. I learned alot from the efforts of many people in these forums and the great tips from the HSXsanity blog and HSX Dude.
I wanted to be helpfull to other player and participate in the community by posting news bits. It seems easy, but there is a lot more to it. So today I will share the bits of wisdom I have learn since then in an other effort to get more involve in this great community.
First and foremost do you research, read the entire article, check to see if what you are about to post has been already posted. Then make sure you link the original source, too often I got fooled linking an article that in fact used an other site or article as a source. So again read the ENTIRE article, this will also make sur that the news is relevant and worthy of mentionand always link your source. Make sure you news is fresh, no need to post out-dated and stale information.
Now on adding a TAG, at first I tought that tagging a post had no real impact and I did not really pay attention. Boy was I wrong, it has a direct impact on the securities. This is why so many posts get removed and you should not take it personal if or when it happens. At first about 80% of my post where removed and I could not understand why, but with time and reading I came to understand the suble rules on tagging. After reading the great post on HSXsanity blog about this very subject and exchanging with the great folks of these forums I now see less then +-30% of my post removed. I hope to get this to below 10% or as close to zero as possible soon... Here is what I learned.
When you should tag?!
Casting news and/or changes or when a when director is getting attach to a project or leaves it! New release dates or date changes. New trailers and posters. Production start dates (either specific date or a specific month). If a project get's the greenlight, delayed, canceled.
When you should not tag?!
Do not tag Actors or Directors already attach to a movie stock. Internation box office news, dates or results. Vague production start or release dates (like TBA 2013). When the article is just speculations and/or guess work. Reviews, website launch, toys and/or other marketing details. You should not tag a rumor or when you are not sure you shoud tag.
So When in doubt, do not TAG. If you rpost should have been tagged, someone will do it in a reply for you. Before hitting the "post this message" button, re-check your post, and recheck the forums to make sure no one already posted this information. Of course make sure you link the source. Like on any forum in general, avoid all caps words and/or posts, do not spam, no trolling and no spoilers should be posted in subject line.
Happy posting folks. Feel free to add anything I might have forgotten!
(Thanks to HSXsanity, Antibody, MovieSnob, Paul2k, Rocket, Chest Rockwell, RotoHockey and all the others who helped me figure this out.)
