Also...HSX uses stock purchases to SELL data to the studios, networks, etc... and if I could buy 1M shares...
it would "skew" their data. We've been through this many times over the years..and HSX has said a number of times that just being able to purchase more shares is not the object. HSX sells the stock data from this site to movie studios, networks, etc., and if I could buy 10 million shares of a stock it may look like a movie is going to be a big hit, when in reality it may not do very well...
Over the years, HSX has found that (at least RIGHT NOW) that 100K of any stock is the most we can buy and still keep their data somewhat 'accurate.'
I remember when we could only buy 10K shares, then 20K, then 50K... so it HAS changed over the years... but for right now... 100K is the max - which still allows their data to be sold and be somewhat accurate... hope that helps.
The game is not just a 'game' for HSX to let us play...it's also a business that they have to have good data to be able to sell.
