I have a port of $250 million.
I check in.. at least a few times a day.
Normally, I keep very litrtle cash on hand, and keep it almost all in play, figuring that to make money, I need to play the cash. Of course, this can have the reverse effect, as if stocks go down, the value of your port can decrease drastically.
The only time I have any signficant amount of cash on hand, is if I sell a stock that goes up, or a movie opening weekend cashes out, and I make money, and I havent had a chance to invest it.
My experience has been.. keep as much cash invested in things, at all times, if you want to maximize your profits, but that's just my mode of play.
