Mainly, I use varying #s of shares to delineate what I need to monitor.
I use the number of shares owned as a tool to keep my port "clean", since I own everything:
MST
Penny stocks 99998 shares (long, of course)
Slow bleeders 99996 shares (short, of course)
Day/short term holding 99999 shares (use on news and stuff I want to revisit at the end of the day)
Wide releases (pre-release) for permanent long term hold 100000 shares
Limiteds 100000 shares
I also use the last 2 or 3 digits to monitor my estimated adjust/delist value (ie) if I think a movie will delist at $25, I will own 99925 stocks (long or short). When it hits the value I want, I can sell 99900 shares and keep the delist value intact. (same for OW adjusts)
For OW stocks, I do the same as para immediately above (ie) 99918 for OW that I think will go to 18 mil OW. Put/Call I am all in or RADAR.

Starbonds without upcoming movies 19996 (I short starbonds that have no movies listed)

I use the last 2 digits for the number of ordered shows (ie) 13 half season or initial offering/22 full season (or whatever in between).

From time to time, I will look at all big gainers and those 100K+ in losses, look at their long term charts and adjust position accordingly.
I make max use of all the other tools and have certain days of the week for SBO rechecking.
