HSXsanity announcement re: preview spreadsheet (and others)
In light of the changes on HSX, I've decided to consolidate HSXsanity's Google sheets for box office predictions, previews and box office data into a single sheet (linked)
Historical preview #s are available on the Previews tab, and the charts are in the P'view Charts tab.
Historical prediction #s are available on the OW preds sheet. As there are no more adjusts, I've decided to remove the page that says what each prediction would mean for an adjust. I will also not be tracking accuracy of the various predictors - they were all pretty much the same anyway. Finally, one of the main issues with these predictions has been the judgment call of giving a numeric value to a description (eg 'almost $20m', 'mid-teen millions' 'mid-to-high singles'), so I will start to track what The Wrap, DL, LAT, Variety and THR actually say in addition to giving their prediction a number.
The older preview and prediction sheets will no longer be updated, and I have removed the shared access to those files. Please update your bookmarks with the new link.
The box office data sheets will operate the same for now, but I plan to make some future changes - for example, I don't need to collect adjust multipliers, calculate adjusts, etc. I don't plan to announce these changes, but if there is any additional data you would like tracked in the sheet, now is the time to let me know.
The 'will it report?' sheet will continue to operate, and will not be integrated into the main box office data sheet.
