The point is that the price is driven by user activity not news
It is more complicated then x shares sold price drops by y, but that is the basic principle. In order stop wild fluctuations you need to have some exponential impact from the number of people making the same or similar trades.
You need to remember the type of people using HSX - we are members of the general public who have an interest in films (or stock market based games) and industry knowledge varies wildly. If you are going to use the data from HSX within the industry I would imagine it is not just the actual stock price you would look at, once you understood the patterns, you would look at how the price changes in relation a trailer being released or a casting decision - nobody really expected BPNTH to do as well as it did, so to think that this group of the general population could have had the price that high that long ago is a strectch.
