Most movies are valued based on the total box office after 4 weeks of release. So, if a movie makes $100 million in domestic box office after 4 weeks, you get $100 for every share of the stock that you own. If you bought it when it was below $100, you make money. If you bought it above $100, you lose money. Some movies cash out after 12 weeks; those are the ones that play in "limited" release, i.e. they never get a wide release. A wide release is 650 screens. When a movie cashes out, it is "delisted."
StarBonds have a "TAG," which stands for Trailing Average Gross. That is the average of the box office gross of their last 5 movies. When a movie that they are in delists, that movie is added to their TAG, and the fifth movie drops out. So, for example, last week Love and Other Drugs delisted. Anne Hathaway (AHATH) was in it, so that movie is added to her TAG. The fifth movie for her was Passengers, so that one drops off. There are two "bond charts" that show you how StarBonds will adjust: The Numbers (www.the-numbers.com) and Project Genome (www.projectgenome.net, although it is in transition).
