i'll try to ask this without getting moderated so no price movement please, but as you check your port this AM, how do you feel about OPSIT?

(OPSIT being yesterdays IPO.)

If you went long yesterday, are you:

A. angry, because you were expecting some short term gain, OR

B. unconcerned, because you play longterm

if you answered B, do you:

A. hold the stock a few days then reevaluate? OR

B. hold the stock til delist?

I have watched 2 similarly priced ipos closely post reset and am amazed to find:

1. that if a stock fails to reach its share offering by reset, the shares held at reset seem to have no bearing on post-reset price movement. only shares traded after reset moved the price. even with a 10 to 1 long to short ratio at reset, if sells and shorts are the first trades made after reset, the stock will go down. does that seem fair?

2. one trade can move a $20 stock 12 cents. is that more or less volatile than pre-changes? i do not know

so if we can discuss trading strategy (that is the name of this board), i would say it would be pointless to invest in an ipo prior to reset if the ipo hasnt reached its offering amount.

i should clarify. not every max trade moved the stock 12c. in the hour after reset, the amount was volatile, ranged from 1 to 13 cents. islander Jan 11, 09:44
