A couple of factors that guided my decision to short
1 - the movie doesn't have a release date and is not in production
2 - neither Faris or Samberg are big stars whose name can open a movie
3 - I have a custom search on Google that I use to research IPOs. The most recent hit it got was when the movie was announced in late September. No news since then
On your other findings, I'm not really amazed that trades made while a stock price is halted do not affect the stock price, but I am surprised that one trade can move a $20 stock 12 cents. We don't have any real information on volatility and whether it has been adjusted since the changes, but I've always thought there aren't be 00's of daytraders making life more difficult for the rest of us.
