I'm not sure you understand how HSX works
Yesterday the stock was offered to the market for the first time. Its price was frozen through the day. Lots of people traded it, but in that first day, trades don't affect the (frozen) price. From midnight, trades on the stock affect its price; there has been a lot of demand for the stock, so its price has risen. People have lots of different reasons for buying; they think the price will rise, or that the movie will be made and be profitable, or they look at what is going up that day and follow it. Any movie that is IPOing now is generally going to be one of the most traded in the following few days. This is a common pattern for new IPOs of movies that are percieved to be 'good bets' in terms of getting made. There's nothing strange about it.
It's not accurate to say Smurfs 1 tanked, either. But the first movie's BO only impacts on the price of the new offerings's price inasmuch as it informs traders about the sequel's prospects. There's no direct correlation between the sequel stock's price and the BO of the first movie.
