If this truly is your first time on the boards, then that explains why you were unaware of the "unspoken rules" about posting , as well as
why you were in the minority in considering SMURF to be a box office disappointment. If you read this board more often, you would have seen links to all the major entertainment news sources talking about how the movie has exceeded expectations, how it has developed good legs, how it has done quite well worldwide, and how worldwide grosses have been increasingly playing a big part in whether or not a studio greenlights a sequel. So, point 2 rebuffed.
What I don't understand is how you don't know that whether or not SMURF moves up in a day has absolutely NO BEARING on the performance of SMRF2. They are two separate stocks, being driven by different factors. A trader of over 10 years should know this. Point 3 rebuffed.
And to say that you have never seen a stock with only a release date move over 20% indicates that you probably only play sporadically, because, hello, DESM2, PIRT5, FAST6, THOR2, CAPA2...and those are only in the past few months. They ALL jumped huge amounts in the first few days after IPO, and none of them even had a release date yet. Point 1 rebuffed.
Read the boards more. If you do, I promise you, you will become better at this game.
