I'm a "literal Xian" but I'm NOT literal about a particular view of a specific English translation of the Hebrew text.
The language allows for a world wide flood but also allows for a more local flood that affects all humanity, or even all humanity known to the writer. I am not dogmatic about things the language leaves open, for instance I do not believe the days of creation are 24 hour days, and the Hebrew text makes no such claims. And the actual story isn't enough to make a movie of, it should be obvious a moviemaler would have to add in LOTS of material not in the Bible, just like The Hobbit wasn't enough material for 3 movies by itself.
