Well, yeah, it was just a rhyme and not a very brilliant one. As for herring, I do love it and I eat a lot of it.
I associate rice more with Indo China and China than with Japan, although they do also use it a lot, not least with their sushi - but so do we, here in Oslo.
So of course, it was a harmless, not very stellar rhyme, and nothing more (and no deeper intent to it) than that.
