But by day's end they had returned to their original VOD plan, possibly in part under pressure from cable companies and other home viewing platforms." Cable Companies + Home Viewing Platforms offering VOD or to purchase a new title through this method is VOD, what am I missing? I get the big theatres didn't want to gamble on a no star film but its pretty clear that they made committments with the Home Viewing Platforms including Cable...? What am I missing here?

the contracts are not title specific, they are with the distributor. you sell in individual titles. Mar 17, 18:21
