for DC think Dick Tracy with superpowers. Batman for most of that time the same thing. A half dozen or so villans over and over. Luthor. Joker. Penguin. Riddler. Bizzaro stories. The Fantastic four probably introduced more bad guys in their first 50 issues than the 2 flagship DC titles did in 40 years. I still buy comics and i just turned 62 so i have a clue. It took DC an awully long ttime to try and even the playing field. I think Hollywood went the same route in a shorter time.
