The new incarnation just misses the mark. It's going to get savaged by the critics once released. Only SJW will like this.
This movie looks like a spoof. Some of those do good but lately people have been more selective of where to spend their money. Most spoof only make in the 30-40 range for it's entire run.
I think this is still way overrated. Think of remakes like Total Recall megaflop 58M originally OW warrant was 40, Robocop 58M originally it's OW warrant was 25.
Feig was the wrong one to direct. He didn't respect or understand the source material. McCarthy could have been okay as a VenKman character but all of them seem to be going for that type of character.
None of them seem to have the intelligence of Ramis or Aykroyd so they can't pull off those characters. The subtly at which we understood who they were is lost in this one.
Tina Fey, Mindy Kaling could have pulled off a Dr. Stantz or Dr. Egon Spengler character
Feig went with slapstick and gross humor and totally missed the mark. Time will tell but I don't think this movie will be redeemed.
