If you don't realize the fans have supported Star Wars and LucasArts for decades, the fans made SW into a most valuable IP.
LucasFlims many employess under Kathleen Kennedy put leftist politics into escapism sci-fi. Kathleen Kennedy, Rian Johnson, Pablo Hildago, Chuck Wendig, J.J. Abrams, Daisy Ridley, Jon Kasden, Chris Weitz, Kira Hart and others have been attacking and insulting the fans for YEARS.
The fans are Star Wars... Disney owns the copyrights but the FANS are Star Wars... without the fans it's worthless.
Kathleen Kennedy and Disney employees tried to change a male oriented property to me more "inclusive" and make it a female centered property. LucasFilms did not cater to the fans and went in search of a new fan base that didn't exist.
LucasFilms had one opportunity to reunite the original cast Luke, Leia, Han and blew it. While writing, everytime Luke showed up in the script he overtook the story as he should since it's the Skywalker tale. Many fans wanted to see Luke kickass again.
LucasFilm could have given each original hero a proper send off but choice to disgrace them all instead.
Han is an absentee father, ran out on his marriage and he lost his ship! Rey flew the Millenium Falcon better than Han, fixed it better than him, shot a blaster better than him with no prior knowledge. Understood wookie with no explanation, what are her motivations?
Luke is now a grumpy isolated, loser who gave up on the force, Luke who is supposed to be the most powerful force user ever is reduced to a green milk drinking fool. Luke left a map for him to be found, macguffin from TFA. Luke is disarmed and beat by Rey a novice who has had no training.
How did Leia fail to rebuild the Republi?, Her lifes work, it's not explained. At the end of TLJ the Resistence is down to a few dozen people and one ship?? What happened with Han and Leia? Leia is now rumored to be in a lesbian relationship with Holdo. Supposedly, originally Luke was supposed to train Leia then when Luke dies Leia continued the fight and trained Rey until Leia dies sacrificing herself. Leia in this version never got trained, but is Mary Poppins in space.. (horrible scene suggested by Kathleen Kennedy)
The new characters are poorly written, the storylines and arcs are poorly written. LucasFlim didn't follow the outline treatment Abrams created.
LucasFilm was intent on destroying the original characters for some innane reason. LucasFilm de-canonized the Extend Universe instead of pulling from the great stories there.
What's left in the Sequel Trilogy? Rey is a MaREY Sue in the truest sense. She hasn't undergone the heroes journey... Nothing in TFA makes sense... all convenience and doesn't stand up against inspection.
The Last Jedi makes The Force Awakens unwatchable to many now since nearly everything thread set up in TFA was severed.
Have you see the video of Rian Johnson saying he wanted to make movies that half the audience would hate afterward???
For some reason Rian Johnson mission was to destroy and humilate Mark Hamill... Mark fundamentally disagreed with Everything Johnson had decided about Luke. No one beside Lucas would know Luke better and Mark was ignored.
It is not a coincidence that in all four Disney Wars movie the heroine in a brunette woman like Kathleen Kennedy. There is no hero's journey. Rey faces no adversity.
Daisy Ridley says Rey is just better at everything than everyone, she's stronger in the force, she learns everything on her own from not believing in the Force just days earlier.
Finn is whole inconsistent, a janitor stormtrooper?? So many flaws with his story. Rian Johnson managed to insult him further by making him comic relief in TLJ.
Kylo Ren is a emotional adolescent, Kylo lost to Rey twice already. What threat does he pose to Rey?
Hux was suppsed to be a extremely competent military leader, basically younger version of Grand Mal Tarkin. Now he's a joke who was humilated by Snoke and Kylo.
Poe is a hothead who's storyline was an afterthought since Abrams originally planned to kill him off.
Rose was intentionally wrote bad by Rian Johnson to be unlikeable and he admits she doesn't belong in SW.
Add to this all the attacks by LucasFilm and the media on the fans who want better stories and characters...

What's left for Episode IX? No point left. Too much damage to this Sequel.
They need to fire anyone connected with the fiasco and agenda.
Appoint people who love and breathe SW, namely Dave Filoni and invite into the fold the authors from the EU and have George Lucas as a consultant, otherwise SW is dead. The hundreds of millions spent building up the theme [[arl section will not be attended even close to levels hoped for.
Start over SW and go KOTOR.. if you don't know what that means you know nothing about SW.
