Um, I guess spoilers but I can see why he changed it (Revenge of the Sith ending spoilers just in case inside)

Yeah, the whole "she died of sadness" is pretty lame (and Palpatine lies about it anyway) but having to cover getting her to Alderaan only for her to die a few months later  and explain all that would be clunky.  He scripted out but cut Yoda learning how to force ghost from Qui Gon from the ending as well (eventually a version of this was put into The Clone Wars series).
