Toy Story will be a lock top 5 movie of 2010, but
The opening will be huge third highest of year behind Potter and Twilight: Eclipse. The problem I have with Toy Story 3 (in the domestic market) is Pixar has not needed 3D to sell a ton of tickets. The surcharge that will push the opening numbers will hurt the repeat business. Toy Story franchise is a hit with all age demographics just like the Shrek franchise, the 3D did not help SHRK4 opening weekend and it will hurt the legs of the movie; SHRK4 was not up to par with previous installments. Toy Story will open big, get an extra bump from 3d surcharge, I believe the folks at Pixar would not put out a product that is not on par with the previous films. This movie targeted towards families; will not want to struggle with the glasses more than once. Simply I would not take my 7 and 3 year old to see a 3d movie more than once, no matter how good the story.
