Ultimately it's down to the ability to put yourself in a movie.
Many of these crossover actors and actresses if you look into it are doing some sort of financing for the movie or are in some other way involved in the movie. Getting their face on the screen is just a bonus. Plus now-a-days it's a good gimmick to get tic tok kids in seats. Not saying it's nessesarily a bad thing, heck if I had the money I'd be buying my way into several pipe dreams I've always had. I'm sure we all would. It's happening more an more all over. Will Ferrel and Baseball. All the actors and several actresses who are race car "drivers" now. It's the new hip way to spend your wealth when you are bored.
