the key about Francis in the book is that he LOOKS 21. They took the plastic surgery commentary in the movie from the book that he uses
surgery to stay 21. They are creating a whole new narrative for this which I always think is risky when using established IP. But getting Jackman is a plus. I'm sure the basic AI kills everyone before they get old story will remain and its not like taking a similar idea and making an original IP movie worked when Bay did it with THE ISLAND (a movie I saw five times in the theater for reasons)
