I hope people don't blame the actors for that one. There is such thing as cheap dialogue and weak story.
When I saw The Marvels I didn't saw bad acting or a cast issue as a problem. I saw that they made a "Disney" movie instead of a "Malvel" superheroes movie. It had hugs, singing and superpowers that were talked about more than shown. A little more and it was a lifetine channel movie. I like superheroines but I like them when they are mean and give as much as their male counterparts. The "you weren't there for me", "you left but never came back" and so on was completely unnessesarry. Although the source material was sacrificed, Supergirl in the flash was awesome because she was angry and powerful.
