Just returned from an Irvine Spectrum IMAX screening. Not many people there. Also;
it didn't help that the movie sort of drifted around, somewhere between "not great" and "it sucked".
Sor of Middling I guess I'd say.
It's too long to 10-15 minutes. The best thing about it is just the chemistry between Gosling and Emily Blunt; you're wanting more of that throughout the movie. The stupid cliches of the lead actor (Taylor Johnson) and the producer (Waddingham, No) don't help; neither do some pretty shoddy effects. For a movie about stunt work, you should be honoring that with some great effects. Why didn't they? They certainly spent too much money on it, they should've at least put the money in the right place.
Oh well. You know, there was some laughter in the theater, so who knows, maybe it'll do okay. I'm certainly not seeing it again. The movies i HAVE seen by this guy Leitch, none of them have worked for me (admittedly i have not seem all of them).
Not many people in the theater; the IMAX felt pretty damn empty.
