The films never covered how someone gets trained in the dark side/that's something we haven't seen yet, even if it becomes a dark mirror of The Empire Strikes Back. It also gets pretty confusing with identical twins played by the same actor (unless down the line the idea is that the "dark" one is redeemed and the "good" one is corrupted and that's kind of the point)
