are people really not expecting TERF3 to outperform the last one?

Terrifier 2 did over $10MM, domestic, two years ago. Made an additional $3MM+ of VOD, then blew up Screambox subscriptions 144% when it hit that window.

It's also been an utter banner year for indie horror with Late Night w/ The Devil doing over $10MM, In A Violent Nature outperforming all expectations, and Longlegs becoming the highest grossing indie horror of the last decade...

Why wouldn't Terrifier 3 be priced to at least equal its predecessor? Is it Joker 2/Beetlejuice Beetlejuice/Venom 3/Smile 2 could crowd everything else out of the market? Or is it people have their funds still tied up w/ summer releases?
