There are a couple of things that worry me, but yes, traditionally this would be something that outdoes the previous hit.

That no traditional studio picked this up. Granted, they probably insisted on cuts and Cineverse didn't.

That Cineverse's CEO is basically "we stand to be profitable at a lower box office total than the last film's box office" and not using the success of #2 to build a horror slate.

That it's a Christmas horror movie being released October 11th and it opens the weekend after JOKER 2 and there's at least some degree of overlap between the two audiences.

That part of the charm/success story is how TERRIFIER 2 was found and went viral, vs a one weekend wide release. This isn't a big deal, obviously PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2 went INSANE after the success of #1.
