I haven't seen all his movies. I am missing "Insomnia". He hasn't really made a lot of movies yet, and his rise has been meteoric, to say the least (although he is still not a "name director", outside of film connoiseur circles). Perhaps this is saying something about Hollywood. I don't know.

There's always been a certain fascination with a "golden boy". Someone who rises to the top at the earliest possible stage/age. But their careers can come to grinding halts, if there isn't enough substance behind what they do - and often there won't be, as they are all about speed of accomplishment. And that should be very very hard to combine with human depth/substance. (These people usually won't suffer, though, even if their careers stall, as they've amassed extraordinary fortunes usually by the time they are 30, or at the very least 40.)

I'm speaking strictly generally here. All I'm saying, specific to Nolan, is that there certainly may be more for him to prove, yet. Durabilit/longevity/staying power, not least.

(However, when and if a golden boy's career stalls, there's always the chance of a come back later, with additional layers added. The name is already established, and if's not especially tarnished, it's still good enough for a comeback, when and if the person has more to offer than before.)
