Rebel Ridge is a very good, not great film. I have never understood Netflix's goal to destroy theatrical presentation. It is the best form of promotion and advertising for streaming. Then again, I can't stand such short windows to VOD & streaming by studios. Every film after Sinners was knee-capped at the boxoffice throughout the summer. Shoot, I'm about to cancel my AMC membership because I can watch almost every film within 4-6 weeks on my large flat screen. I think without the theatre promotion and a *liitle* built-up demand, films just get lost in the streaming wild wild west. Finally, all of this has weakened overall quality and pissed off a great deal of filmmakers.
