In my town the local AMC was wide open during the XMas holidays then....
immediately after New Years Day the showings were cut back to 2 showings/day (EX:4:30 & 7 p.m.) with 3 show during the weekend. Most films were given a 4th showing on Saturdays. The 14-screen theatre was packed during the holidays but AMC shuttered the doors on Sunday Feb. 1 with no notice. Weird, it was the only movie theater in a mid-size town which is also home to a large SEC university. The AMC theater in the next town, 20-25 min drive is still open currently. I was pissed off because my monthly A-List fees had just been paid & some smaller films, like Hamnet, had just started the Friday before closing. Honestly, I had plans to go on the following Tuesday. Nope, Hamnet was given only a 3-day engagement & AMC didn't move it to the town over. Marty Supreme was on my list and that was gone also.
my local AMC never has morning shows anymore...I'm guessing that's happening in most multiplexes? Feb 20, 18:08
Define "morning". My AMC has shows starting at 10am on weekends but mostly starts at noon on weekdays. {nm} Feb 20, 18:35
for me, morning is anything before noon...my AMC only has afternoon and evening shows these days {nm} Feb 20, 21:53

In Charlotte NC, that is true for AMC theaters. However Regal theaters regularly have showtimes beginning at around 10:50 am. Feb 20, 22:37
