And, since Dmac didn't reply on rationale of the new max, we must speculate. Was it to further de-emphasize Bonds (without
the whining that would result from lowering bond max)? Or, was it to re-invigorate older and larger ports, to see what stocks would move most with more cash suddenly available?
Was it a test -- a way to show a prospective HSX buyer how many people could be moved to jump in with a sudden impetus? I'm sure there are other possibilities I haven't dreamed up. Regardless of the motivation, though, it surely shows that someone higher in the food chain cares about HSX in a way that just some few months ago, they did not.

Speculation, but it will allow active traders to overtake old retired ports much more easily {nm} Nov 01, 21:13
