Are you sure that's how it ended? I just asked someone else who saw it, and...

...they said it ended exactly the way I said: Destro and Cobra Commander get away after the base is destroyed.  This person saw it in the theater this weekend.  I saw a screening of it a couple of months ago. 

So you're saying that, in the version you saw, CC and Destro are locked up in cells at the end?
